For a season of enjoyment on the water it is important to maintain and check your PWC regularly.
The following tips are a guide only and not meant as an exhaustive list. They are based on the 'YAMAHA' operating system.
Pre Checks Before Operation:
Check fuel and oil, refill as necessary and also check for leaks.
Check steering handle for operation and grease workings as necessary.
Check throttle operation.
Check battery condition and volume of battery fluid.
Ensure drain plugs are fully tightened.
Check jet intake is un-obstructed.
Check engine starts prior to launching using both the lanyard and stop switch to start and stop the engine.
After operation:
Wash craft with fresh water to remove dirt and salt.
Flush cooling system with fresh water and clear by operating throttle. Consider using a specialist additive such as Salt-X.
Remove seat and front storage cover to allow cleaning and ventilation.
Drain water / fuel from bilge and wipe dry with a cloth / sponge (ensure you keep the drain plugs in a safe place!).
Treat with anti-rust such as WD40 after the engine has dried off.
Have the engine serviced as and when required.
