The spectacular coastline of the Borough provides ample opportunity for a variety of water sports. The broad shallow waters of Lough Foyle are well used by wind surfers with surfers, body boarders and kayakers playing in the breakers along Benone Strand when the swell is up.
From April to September Benone Strand is a key site on the North Coast for jet skis. Jet skiing is permitted at the beach. Launching and landing should take place to the left of the access ramp in the designated zone. It is recommended that all users have insurance and buoyancy aids must be worn.
